Grace Pearl's Dance Party Turns 8 Tonight
Tonight is the eighth anniversary of our goodbye dance for Grace
Eight years ago tonight, my husband Jim and I held a dance party, not to celebrate, but to say our goodbyes to Grace Pearl.
I shared this experience on The Moth at the 14:10 minute point.
Tonight marks 8 years since Jim decided to make a playlist of songs that he had always wanted to teach Grace about, and we danced to it in our living room, in the darkness, and sang and danced with her. And each anniversary, we listen to the songs, and receive messages from friends near and far reminding us that Grace isn’t forgotten, and that we’re embraced by so many people that we love. It means so much to us.
Here’s the playlist, if you’d like to join along.
